Charles D. Webb Award

On June 27, I was honored to be named the 2013 recipient of the Charles D. Webb Award. I have taken from the City Council website the excerpt below which describes the award.

“The City Council’s most prestigious internal award, the Webb Award is bestowed annually, by the outgoing President, to the Council Member that best exemplifies the extraordinary commitment to public service demonstrated by the late Charles D. Webb during his years on the City Council. Mr. Webb served on the City Council from 1971 until his death in 1976.”

This is a great personal honor and I am most appreciative to former Council President Bishop.  In his presentation of the award, he noted my service on three standing committees (Rules, Finance, and Land Use and Zoning) my service as Chair of LUZ and as Chair of the Special Committee on Context Sensitive Streets,  and my role on the Metropolitan Park  committee and others. It was a very busy and rewarding year!

Congratulations Lori; I have said to anyone who will listen that all of Jacksonville is very fortunate to have someone with your talents and background be willing to give generously of your time on the Council. Look forward to helping when it is time for your re-election race.
