Last January, the City sent out a request to all neighborhood associations soliciting suggestions for capital repairs needed in the area. The Brierwood Association responded with a list of repairs and improvements at Tomahawk Park and I am happy to report that all have been completed! The parking lot was upgraded, an ADA space installed, the playground improved and painting completed. In addition, several trees were removed from the creek and additional kayak launch stabilization will be completed soon. It was determined that the location is not large enough for a disc golf course but we are looking at alternative locations nearby.
A big shout out is due to First Place Sports and the team of volunteers who also completed extensive work on the trail system in the park. It is truly a gem for those who want to avoid running on the pavement and are looking for trails.
