Margate Drive and Englewood drainage

In the Fall Public Works began the Margate Drive Drainage Improvement Project which will address the drainage issues in the Englewood neighborhood.  The project will focus on upgrading and replacing driveway culverts and improve drainage flow to the outfalls on Hudnall Drive and Bankhead Avenue.

In November I met with the residents in the Englewood neighborhood to discuss the drainage project; however many of the residents that live north of Hudnall Drive, just outside of the project scope, also expressed their concerns about the ditches overflowing and the streets flooding after it rained.  Public Works is currently devising a plan to address these residents’ concerns and will provide an update and possible solutions to the flooding issues in January.
